Construction begun on 39-unit Castillo del Sol in Ventura
Groundbreaking ceremony was held today, Wed. Feb. 18, at the Castillo del Sol site at 3005 E. Main Street, Ventura. When completed, 39 new apartments will be available for low-income veterans, seniors, people with special needs, and homeless persons. The complex will be managed by the Housing Authority of the City of San Buenaventura.
V.C. Housing Trust Fund helped bring this project to this construction point by providing a $200,000 low-interest loan for pre-development expenses such as planning, engineering and design. The loan was recently paid off; the money was returned to the Revolving Loan Fund and will be used to help other affordable housing projects.
